About Us

The Adams County Genealogical Society was founded in 1979
in West Union, Ohio, and is incorporated as a nonprofit
organization in the State. The Society has more than 300
members that include both Adams County residents and
others who have roots in the county.

Purpose

Our purpose is to:
    Encourage the study of genealogy

    Help others gather genealogical information

    Establish a library of books and research materials

    Preserve and compile genealogical records

    Encourage public officials in charge of public records
    to preserve them and make them accessible

    Publish such books and records

    Encourage public officials to care for and preserve
    Adams County's cemeteries
